[Tutorial] Rikku
Tutorial : Rikku
Level : Beginner

Rikku is a game character from Final Fantasy X.

Materials:
- Pearl 3mm.
- Pearl 4mm.
- Pearl 6mm.
- Crystal bicone 4mm.
- Seed bead 11/0
- Nylon thread
- Clasp and jumprings

This bracelet is very easy. You just make many squares and connect them together.

1.

Cut the thread around 70-80 cms. String two 11/0 seed beads, one 3mm pearl and two 11/0 seed beads. Cross both threads at a 6mm pearl (red arrow).

2.

Add two 11/0 seed beads to each thread. Cross both threads at a 3mm pearl (red arrow).

3.

Pass your threads back through the two 11/0 seed beads. Add one 3mm pearl. Continue your thread to the next two 11/0 seed beads. Do the same for the other side too. Finally, cross both threads at a 3mm pearl (red arrow).

4.

Pick up one thread, add one crystal, one 11/0 seed bead, one 6mm pearl and one 11/0 seed bead. Cross both threads at a crystal (red arrow).

5.

Put the right thread into the next two 11/0 seed beads (red arrow). Add one 4mm pearl to the left thread. Cross both threads at a crystal (blue arrow).

6.

Put the right thread into the next 3mm pearl (red arrow). For the left thread, add one 11/0 seed bead, one 6mm pearl and one 11/0 seed bead. Cross both threads at a crystal (blue arrow).

7.

Repeat step 5 and 6 all around.

On the final round, after you pass your thread to the two 11/0 seed bead, just pass your thread to the crystal (the first crystal on step 4). Cross both threads at a 4mm pearl. You can string your threads back into the beads if you wish to tighten the square or you can tie the threads together. But don't cut the threads, you can use the remaining threads to connect each square.

Make around 6-7 squares depend on your desired length.

8.

This is how I connect each square together. You use the remaining threads, cross them at the 11/0 seed bead, 4mm pearl and 11/0 seed bead (red arrows). Add one crystal to each thread. Cross the threads to the same beads (11/0 seed bead, 4mm pearl and 11/0 seed bead) of the other square.

Repeat connecting each square the same way.

9.

Add jumpring and your clasp.

And it's done! Easy right? :D

Happy beading!

Colors
This Rikku bracelet is so beautiful. I'd love to make it in the exact colors shown. Will you share what colors you have used? Looks like light and dark green pearls but I'm not sure of the bicone color. Thank you so much! Your tutorials are great!

Love it
This pattern is super easy great for gifts. I am going to be in Bangkok soon and was wondering if you can tell me where I can find some good spots to go bead shopping?

Re: Love it
Sorry for my late reply!! I'm glad you will come to BKK. If you like precious stones or pearls, I suggest Chatuchak Weekend Market zone 23-24.

If you like Miyuki seed beads, we have Bead Factory (the same shop as in Japan) at Central World department store. http://www.beadsfactory.in.th/

For swarovski and supplies, I suggest China Town (Sampeng wholesale market). But the whole place is very busy during this time. I suggest Nook crystal http://www.nookcrystal.com/ This is where I got most of my crystals.

Hello! I first found this tutorial in the LJ comm bead_tutorial...but unfortunately, in both that post and this one the third picture won't display! And I'm getting confused without having the visual guide, is it possible to re-load the picture or something like that? Thank you!

It seems LJ ate my pictures again. I'll find my back up and re upload.
